Parallel Major Chords Ex. 1

To break it down: Parallel Chords are basically any chord progression in which all the notes in the chord are moved by the same interval. So, if you make a C chord, take the same shape and move it up 3 frets, congrats you got a parallel chord progression.

To take it to the next level, you can use parallel chord progressions to create interesting melodies and sections in music through an intervalic pattern. As an example, I take an E maj7 chord and follow a progression where the chord is moved up a Major 3rd and then moved down a Major 6th. One thing to note is that the duration of the Chords does not need to be consistent, simply the pattern.
